Day 1: A Social Gathering on the Sand
Our tour to Costa Rica starts in Tamarindo. This beach village is a popular destination for couples and families looking for a good time. Tamarindo is the epitome of everything Costa Rica prides itself on. Let's head to the beach, where there is likely to be a gathering/party of some sort. On a side note, Tamarindo is also home to leatherback turtles.
Day 2: Sunset Catamaran Cruise with an Open Bar & Appetizers & Going Snorkeling
We go on an excursion today. Passing by the beaches in Brasilito and then Potrero, we stop at Flamingo beach so we can go swimming. Afterwards, we do a cruise into the bay. We are provided with snorkeling gear, local appetizers and access to an open bar. Enjoy the sunset while “sipping on some bubbly.”
Day 3: Zip-Lining & a Night Expedition in a Cloud Forest Reserve
We relocate from Tamarindo near to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. There we go on a zip-lining tour. We return in the evening for a night tour.
This reserve draws roughly 70,000 visitors a year. It consists of over 10,500 hectares of cloud forest and 6 ecological zones, 90 percent of which are virgin forest. A high biodiversity-consisting of over 2,500 plant species, 100 species of mammals, 400 bird species, 120 reptilian and amphibian species and thousands of insects-has drawn scientists and tourists alike.
Day 4: Crawling Inside Creepy-Looking Caves & Bathing in Natural Hot Springs
We relocate from Monteverde to the town of La Fortuna. Shortly thereafter, we are taken to the Venado Caves. There we get wet as we see stalactites and stalagmites and otherwise crawl between cave formations.
Upon returning to town, we recommend you bathe in one of the many natural hot springs. The most popular hot spring is found in the resort of Tabacón. However, there are others which are just as nice but much more affordable. Consider a place called Ecotermales Fortuna. Note that most resorts with hot springs close around 10:00pm.
Day 5: Walking Over Hanging Bridges & Swimming Under a Waterfall
Today we are taken on a tour to the nearby surroundings. First is Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, which features cool-looking bridges hanging in the tropical rain forest. Next is La Fortuna Waterfall, where we can go swimming. Following the waterfall is lunch, which is included on today’s tour. Lastly for today is Arenal Volcano National Park. It offers a nice hike amid tropical scenery. The volcano measures at least 1,633 meters (5,358 feet) high and is estimated to be less than 7,500 years old.
Day 6: An Intimidating Volcanic Park
We go on a daytrip today. We are taken to Tenorio Volcano National Park. The jewel of this national park is its volcano, from which it receives its name. Tenorio Volcano consists of 4 volcanic peaks and 2 craters. Thermal springs and small geysers dot the area, as do rivers, waterfalls and lagoons. The upper area of the park is dominated by primary cloud forest, while the lower regions are carpeted with rain forest. The summit can be reached via the Lago Las Dantas Trail, which winds up the volcano and passes through forested terrain before eventually reaching the peak. From the park’s entrance, it takes about an hour to hike up to the peak/main viewpoint. Lunch is included on today’s tour.
Day 7: Canyoning in the 'Lost Canyon': Climb, Hike & Rappel
Before relocating from La Fortuna to Manuel Antonio National Park, we are taken on an adrenaline-pumping adventure to the Lost Canyon. There we climb and hike and otherwise go waterfall rappelling. Lunch is included on today’s tour.
Day 8: Horseback Riding & Taking a Surf Class at the Country's Most Famous Beach
Today we will quickly see why Manuel Antonio National Park is so popular with tourists. It receives almost 150,000 visitors annually. In 2011, Manuel Antonio was listed by Forbes among the world’s 12 most beautiful national parks. The morning starts with horseback riding in a nearby valley which features a nice waterfall. There we also dip in the cool water. Lunch is included on today’s tour. The second half of the day is spent taking a surfing class.
Day 9: Discovering Wildlife Inside an Animal Kingdom
The day starts with a guided tour inside Manuel Antonio National Park. Extra time is given so we can go swimming. This park has impressive landscapes and several coves with many white sand beaches and lush foliage amidst great mountains and forests. After lunch, we relocate to the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose.
Day 10: The Most Stunning Volcano in Costa Rica & a Coffee Plantation Visit
We go on a daytrip today. We are first taken to Doka Estate. There we are provided with breakfast followed by a guided tour of a coffee plantation. Next, we visit Poás Volcano National Park. There we are provided with a guided tour. Please note that Poás Volcano National Park is often closed due to eruptions. If this is the case during your visit, then this park would need to be removed from today’s itinerary. Lastly, we visit La Paz Waterfall. There we are provided with lunch as well as a guided tour.
Day 11: Our Tour Ends This Morning
San Jose is the final destination on our tour around Costa Rica. Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the international airport.
Now I know why there’s no bad review! This tour is just amaaazing! Sometimes I felt tires because there’s a lot of traveling around and a loot of activities, but you have to be aware that you’re going in an adventure, not a lazy vacation. What I really like is that there’s no one group and one guide and all of us are together during the whole trip – like in other agencies. I travelled everyday with different people and that’s just great! Transportation was nice, sometimes drivers didn’t speak English, but at least they all drive very good, and believe me that means a lot when you’re on Costa Rican roads. I LOVE TOUR GUIDES – they are soo passionate and dedicated to the work, their English is perfect and they really care about you. At last, many thanx to Charlie and his team! I never thought that travelling in the jungle can be this smooth. They organized everything perfectly. Some people I met on this trip was just impressed how many places and activities I did in 10 days. I really appreciate Charlys style of communication with clients, from the very beginning to the end of trip. Many thanx, E.
Had a wonderful tour of beautiful Costa Rica! Everything was planned extremely well down to every last detail. Would highly recommend this touring company in the future.
CharlieTheTraveler planned a perfect tour to Costa Rica. There was a nice balance between sightseeing tours and active excursions. I was happy I chose this company for my trip to Central America!
I enjoyed this trip to Costa Rica as there was never a dull moment. Our tour guide provided by CharlieTheTraveler brought us to amazing spots that allowed me to truly appreciate the beauty of nature.
The perfect trip was planned by this company to Costa Rica. The itinerary had a perfect balance of sightseeing and active trips. CharlieTheTraveler was a great choice of mine to book this trip to Central America. I was very pleased overall.
Typically when I plan vacations, I don’t feel they are worth all of the stress that comes along with them. For my trip to Costa Rica, I booked through CharlieTheTraveler and found that there was little planning to do. This made the vacation worth every penny of the low price. This company made for a smooth and stress-free vacation.
I wanted an action-packed trip and CharlieTheTraveler delivered with this Costa Rica trip. I had so much fun on every daytrip during these 10 days. There were tons of activities planned and I could not have planned a trip to this Central American country better.
It was an easy decision to book my trip to Costa Rica through this company, as they had multiple raving reviews and an itinerary that was packed with interesting activities. I could not have dreamt of a better vacation. The balance between laid back tours and high adrenaline excursions was perfect for me. I cannot wait to book my next trip with CharlieTheTraveler!
I was amazed at the low price for everything that was included in the CharlieTheTraveler tour to Costa Rica. Everything about the tour was amazing, including the authentic breakfasts in the morning, the knowledgeable tour guide, and the clean accommodations. I don’t have anything negative to say about my trip.
I was so surprised at how much was included in this trip to Costa Rica. CharlieTheTraveler managed to pack so many exciting tours all within the 10-day span. I was never bored and always had something to do!
I never liked to be the one in my family to plan for vacations because it was so stressful and time consuming. When I came across the list of CharlieTheTraveler’s tours, I was confident that booking through this reputable company was going to change my mind about vacation planning. Booking was simple and easy and the trip was fun and exciting.
The length of the trip was perfect to capture the beauty of Costa Rica. I feel we spent the perfect amount of time at each destination and the trip was so well-organized so we were able to fit an immense amount of activities in just 10 days. I never felt rushed or bored.
I wanted to bring my brother on this trip, as he studied Costa Rica and always wanted to go. I was delighted to see CharlieTheTraveler had everything planned for me so I could just enjoy the trip with my brother. Our tour guide provided by the company was welcoming and friendly.
The trip to Costa Rica included so many awesome experience opportunities. I had so many experiences that I would not have thought of including in this trip. This is why I was glad I chose CharlieTheTraveler. If I planned this trip, it would not have been as exciting.
Based on what all of the reviewers had to say about CharlieTheTraveler, I felt safe booking my trip to Costa Rica through them. I knew I was in good hands as soon as I landed in the Central American country and transportation was provided for my family and me. The tour guide was excellent and very informative about a country I had never been to before.
I wanted to go to Costa Rica to explore nature, as I have seen pictures of the beauty of the country. CharlieTheTraveler had great reviews and the best plan for this trip. I was able to experience all of the natural beauty of the country. This was all done with ease and a sense of safety thanks to the company-provided tour guide.
Traveling is usually stressful and induces many headaches, so by the time I get on vacation, I can’t relax. I loved that CharlieTheTraveler did all of the hard part of planning my vacation for me. That way, by the time I got to Costa Rica, I enjoyed every minute of the 10-day tour.
I chose to go to Costa Rica for my summer vacation. I saw no one had anything negative to say about CharlieTheTraveler tours, so I booked my trip. It was so easy and I couldn’t believe how much the company did for me, including preparing me for what I needed to bring on the trip.
I knew booking through CharlieTheTraveler was going to be a good choice due to the positive reviews and how organized the company’s tours were. I especially appreciated the consistency of the price. Instead of booking hotels and trips other times, booking through CharlieTheTraveler meant I could book when it was convenient for me, not when the rates were cheapest.
The breakfast that was provided every day was always unique and not typical of what I would make at home. The accommodations chosen by CharlieTheTraveler were also pristine and some of the best hotels I have stayed in. I appreciated the small details put into planning this vacation.
The tour group was small and intimate, which was perfect for me. The tour guide provided by the company was not overbearing but he also did not leave me on my own for the duration of the trip. He was there when I needed him and there to provide great information, but he left me to my own exploring as well.
I wanted to go to Costa Rica after seeing pictures of the jungles and landscapes. I had never dreamed of having such a perfectly organized and planned vacation as the one I booked through CharlieTheTraveler. The tour guide knew so much about the area and kept everyone in the group engaged, which I appreciated. Every daytrip was interactive and exciting.
CharlieTheTraveler does such an excellent job balancing out trips, such as this Costa Rica trip. I enjoyed the balance between active daytrips and daytrips that allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away. This was the perfect vacation for me and something I would not have been able to plan on my own.

Are Kids Allowed on This Tour & Are They Charged the Same as Adults?
We welcome your kids specifically and only when the tour is exclusive to you and your group-meaning other customers are not joining you. We define kids as anyone under 18 years old. In order to make the tour exclusive to you and your group, your booking would need to be for 4 persons or more for any of our tours except Iceland. For our Iceland tour, your booking would need to be for 8 persons or more. Regarding the cost of bringing a non-adult, we do deduct from the total based on the amount of activities you request we remove from the tour. Note that reducing the total price of the tour by removing activities is something offered for non-adults only. Adults can opt out of activities but the total price does not change.
How Strong Do I Need to Be For This Trip?
We do not expect you to be an Olympic champion. We know some of the tour members are more fit than others…and we are well prepared for this. However, we do hope you take into consideration this is a very active tour, just like every other tour we offer.
Are Disabled People Allowed on This Tour?
Please let us know about any disability you have. Some disabilities would not affect you taking this tour. Others would prevent you from joining altogether. Although we want all of our customers to have fun, your safety is our first priority.
Do I Get Any Free Time to Myself?
Of course. Once each day’s tour is over, you have the rest of the evening to yourself. Because our tours tend to be very active, our customers typically want to simply relax once the sun sets.
What Happens If I Arrive Late?
Notify us as soon as possible and we will do our very best to arrange a meeting point. Please note that we do not refund for any days or activities that you miss.
Can I Opt-Out of Certain Activities?
Generally speaking, you can opt out as long as we are given adequate notice. Please note that opting out of certain activities does not reduce the price of this tour.
What Happens If I Get Injured on This Trip & Cannot Continue?
We would do our best to keep you safe and make you as comfortable as possible, as well as make special arrangements to address your situation. Partial refunds are not offered if you cannot continue with the tour. However, most travel insurances reimburse you for such situations. This is one of many reasons why we require our customers to purchase travel insurance before taking this tour.

To confirm your tour, full payment is needed at the time of your purchase. However, refunds are offered. You will receive a full refund if canceling at least 91 days in advance from the departure date. Cancelling between 90-60 days prior to departure entitles you to a 50 percent refund. The more we customize it, the quicker the price goes up. As our tour is currently advertised, you absolutely will not find another one out there as packed with activities and attractions. What’s more, you will not find another tour out there that offers it all "FIRST CLASS," yet for a relatively low price.
