What Does Google Say About CharlieTheTraveler’s Tour to Turkey?
Our Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: It Looks More Greek Than Greece Here!

Our tour to Turkey starts in the coastal town of Alacati. Its cobblestone streets are lined with traditional Greek stone houses featuring colorful doors and shutters. Aside from its traditional houses, Alacati is also known for its beaches, nightlife and its windmills. Today we also visit Cesme. While this coastal town is famous for its beaches and nightlife, it also has a cultural side worth exploring. The Çesme Castle, located in the town center, offers panoramic views and contains a small museum showcasing the region’s history.

Day 2: Soft White Sand & Shallow Turquoise Water
Today we explore the area, starting with Ilica Beach. It is famous for its soft white sand, shallow turquoise water and warm thermal springs mixing into the sea. We later visit a relatively untouched beach called Pirlanta. Enjoy the shimmering diamond-like sand and crystal-clear shallow water. From May to August, we also visit a beach club. Note that entry into beach clubs is not included in the tour package price, as the ‘entry fee’ actually serves as a credit for food and drinks. In the evening, we explore Alataci. Its decorative and well-lit streets offer excellent nightlife as well as high-end restaurants.

Day 3: One of UNESCO’s Greatest World Heritage Sites & Instagrammers’ Favorite Photo Spot in Turkey
Although we are relocating by land from Alacati to the village of Pamukkale, two important stops are made en route. Firstly, we head to a Catholic shrine named the House of Virgin Mary. It is believed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken to this stone house by Saint John and lived there for the remainder of her earthly life. Next, we head to the world-renowned archaeological site that is Ephesus. It is one of the largest Roman archaeological sites in the eastern Mediterranean. The visible ruins still give some idea of the city’s original splendor and the names associated with the ruins are evocative of its former life.
After checking into our hotel, we check out the ancient Greek city of Hierapolis. Next, we visit nearby Pamukkale, a natural site which shares the same name as the village. Pamukkale consists of hot springs and travertine limestone. It is one of the country’s most photographed locations. Lastly, we go swimming in nearby natural pools called Cleopatra Pools. People have bathed in these pools for thousands of years.

Day 4: High in the Sky, Romantic Restaurants, Lively Music & Hotspots Not-to-Miss
Before relocating by land from Pamukkale to the fancy and vibrant town of Bodrum, we go on a hot-air balloon ride over Pamukkale. Once in Bodrum, we purchase lunch next to the beach. There we see a whole line of restaurants and people swimming. In the early evening, we are taken to a small port called Gumusluk. There we can purchase dinner and otherwise check out the port. See just how decorative the restaurants are. Gumusluk is a very unique and romantic place. We then return to the old town of Bodrum and explore. The winding lanes, decorated with bougainvillea and traditional white houses, are especially photogenic under warm evening lighting. The marina and harbor come alive with people strolling, street performers, cafes and restaurants overlooking the sea.
Note that November through April, Bodrum and the south of Turkey are replaced with privately guided tours in Istanbul. Bodrum and Fethiye are seasonal destinations. In the wintertime, before flying from Dalaman to Istanbul, we drive to the village of Dalyan. There we take a river cruise, passing by the mountain-carved Lycian tombs followed by heading to a therapeutic mud pool.

Day 5: Mama Fatma’s Cooking Class, High-End Yachts & Marinas & a Castle Which Lasts Forever
Our morning starts with a cooking class at a local’s home. After our meal, we are provided with a guided tour around town. Specifically, we are shown the castle, the Theatre of Halicarnassus and the bazaar. In the evening, we are taken to an ultra-modern port called Yalikavak. It is a popular place where the jet-set crowd goes. The bars there are quite fashionable. We are later taken to a harbor called Turkbuku. There we stroll the waterfront, with its restaurants and bars playing traditional Turkish music. The night ends on a party street called “Gumbet Barlar Sokagi.”

Day 6: A River Cruise, a Therapeutic Mud Bath & Tombs Carved into the Mountainside
Although we are relocating from Bodrum to the beach town of Oludeniz, many important stops are made en route. Firstly, we are taken to the vibrant marina in the resort town of Marmaris. Next, we are taken to the village of Dalyan. There we take a river cruise, passing by the mountain-carved Lycian tombs followed by heading to a therapeutic mud pool. After bathing in the mud clay, we visit the Tomb of Amyntas. Like the Lycian tombs in Dalyan, Amyntas is carved into the mountainside. Next is the resort town of Fethiye. There we check out the old town before heading to nearby Oludeniz.
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
Day 7: A Postcard-Perfect Lagoon, Waterfalls, a Crystal Coastline & Trendy Bars
Before checking out of our hotel, we can swim in the turquoise waters of Oludeniz. We are then taken to a viewpoint overlooking the postcard-perfect Oludeniz Lagoon, which features a sandy bay on a blue lagoon. Not included in the tour but highly popular nonetheless is paragliding over Oludeniz Lagoon. It is done from Mount Babadag, which is a 1-hour drive away from the lagoon. If you are interested in paragliding, please let us know. It would be done in the morning before taking the boat tour.
After Oludeniz Lagoon, we are taken to the Gizlikent Selalesi Waterfall. There we walk through water and check out intriguing rock formations. Next is a swim at Kaputas, which just may be Turkey’s prettiest beach. This is one of Turkey’s most photographed beaches. After Kaputas, we are taken to the charming coastal village of Kalkan. There we check out the historic streets. Lastly, we are taken to the coastal town of Kas. It has boutique hotels, family-run restaurants and narrow streets lined with bougainvillea, artisan shops and waterfront cafes.

Day 8: From Greco-Romans Masterpieces to an Old Town Full of Life
Although we are relocating today by land from Kas to our hotel in the city of Antalya, important stops are made en route. Firstly, we are taken to the resort town of Kemer. It is known for its beaches and marina. After Kemer, we are taken to the upper portion of Duden Waterfall followed by the lower portion. Both offer great views. Before reaching our hotel, we pass by a shoreline area called “Eski Lara Yolu Moon Lara.” There we see high-end restaurants and bars.
After checking into our hotel, we make a daytrip. Firstly, we are taken to an archaeological theater called Aspendos. Next, we are taken to the coastal village of Side. There we check out the village itself followed by are provided with a guided tour of its archaeological theater. Next, we are taken to an archaeological site and ancient city called Perge. Once back in Antalya, we are provided with a guided tour of the old town. It is best seen in the evening.

Day 9: One of the Nation’s Most Iconic Destinations
We relocate by flight from Antalya to Cappadocia. This is a historic region in central Turkey famous for its surreal volcanic landscapes, underground cities, cave churches and hot air balloon flights. It is one of Turkey’s most iconic destinations as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Center and Site. The destinations for today are a viewpoint called Esentepe, the underground city of Derinkuyu, Selime Monastery, a viewpoint overlooking Ihlara Valley, a hike inside Ihlara Valley, Pigeon Valley and a gemstone (a.k.a. onyx) workshop.
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
Day 10: Floating From Heaven, a Massage Like No Other & a Folkloric Night Show
The day starts with an early-morning, hot-air balloon ride over the cave dwellings of Cappadocia. The tour takes about an hour. Following this is a tour of the area: the surreal-looking rock formations of Pasabagi (a.k.a. Monks’ Valley), Devrent (a.k.a. Camel Rock), a pottery workshop in the small town of Avanos, the Goreme Open Air Museum, Love Valley and Uchisar Castle.
After exploring the area, we are taken to a wine house. There we do wine tasting for about 45 minutes. Next, we head to a traditional Turkish bathhouse (a.k.a. hammam). There we are bathed and massaged and otherwise sip on tea. In the evening, we go to a night show. There we listen to traditional music while watching locals wearing folkloric attire do a great deal of choreography.
Note that children under 7 years old are not allowed onto the hot air balloon.

Day 11: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport in Antalya.
On a different note, November through March Istanbul is already included in our itinerary. April through October, it is not. We strongly recommend you spend as much time as possible exploring Istanbul, regardless whether through CharlieTheTraveler or independently. To see this ancient yet vibrant city well, you will need 8 full days. Nonetheless, because of people’s time constraints, most visitors stay in Istanbul for about 2-4 days.
Serving as the capital of both the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, boasting impressive architecture, home of one of the most enchanting harbors on Earth, world-renowned for being the urban center of where East meets West – both geographically and culturally – and otherwise, well known for preparing some of the tastiest and most exotic foods in all of the Mediterranean (not least the sweets), Istanbul (a.k.a. Constantinople) is a sightseeing destination that is on par with the likes of Paris and Rome. This city definitely has a European buzz to it, although pockets of Asian character are easily noticed throughout the city. Even though the majority of Istanbul’s key sites are found on the European side, you should visit the Asian side to see its handful of definitely worthwhile attractions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can We Customize This Tour?
We are open to customizing this tour to your liking, even though the itinerary we recommend is rock solid. As our tour is currently advertised, you absolutely will not find another one out there as packed with activities and attractions. What’s more, you will not find another tour out there that offers it all "FIRST CLASS," yet for a relatively low price. We have thousands of travelers taking this specific tour every year, and that's because no competitor can beat us on quality, price & substance.
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
Is Travel Insurance Required & Included?
All participants are required to book travel insurance within 72 hours of booking this tour. At a minimum, such insurance must cover cancellations, medical expenses, evacuations, flight loss or delays and 24/7 assistance.
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
How Much Does This Tour Cost & Is Financing Offered?
A 4-installment payment plan is available, often with 0 percent interest to those with at least decent credit. Ask us for details. Our luxury-oriented and itinerary-packed “Turkey in 11 Days” tour is available for $2,825 USD per person. This price includes all transportation, except airfare. It also includes English-speaking escort drivers, English-speaking tour guides, food, all activities mentioned in the standard itinerary and all entry fees. If you would like lodging included for all nights on this tour, then the combined (transportation, escort drivers, tour guides, food, activities, entry fees and lodging) total would be $3,968 USD per person. This price is based on 2 per room and is offered to those booking at least 6 weeks in advance. Note that there is a $30 USD fee if paying by bank transfer or a 4.6 percent surcharge for payments made by credit card. We accept both forms of payment. We do not accept checks. Moving forward, to better understand your specific circumstances and wishes, and for us to accurately quote you, please tell us:
1. Do you prefer getting domestic airfare through us or directly with the airlines? You have both options. Either way, we tell you the exact flight you would need for this tour. Note there is a $100 USD ‘booking fee’ which guarantees not only booking airfare but also that a CharlieTheTraveler representative would be on the phone and/or using live chat with the airlines should there need to be a possible change to your flight.
2. Would you like to extend the duration of this tour so you have some free days just to relax? If visiting sometime between April and October and if you have 1 extra day, then we recommend Bodrum. If you have 2, then we recommend 1 in Bodrum and 1 in Antalya. If visiting sometime between November and March and if you have 1 extra day, then we recommend Istanbul. If you have 2, then we still recommend Istanbul, for both days. It takes a good 8 full days to see all the worthwhile attractions in Istanbul, but of course, few people have that sort of time.
3. Also, would you like to paraglide over Oludeniz Lagoon? Note that this specific activity is optional and is not included in the standard price. Note this activity is available only April through October.
4. Also, if you are visiting between April and October and would like to extend this 11-day tour specifically so one of our tour guides could take you to some of Istanbul’s famous attractions, then for how many days would you like to have a private tour guide?
5. Not least, do you have a preference between a male or female tour guide specifically in Istanbul?
6. Lastly, many of our customers combine our Turkey tour with our Azerbaijan (3 days), Greece (several days) and/or Jordan (5 days) tours. You can find our tours here: charliethetraveler.com/our-multiday-tours Would you like to combine Turkey with Azerbaijan, Greece and/or Jordan?
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
What’s Excluded in the Price?
Any airfare, alcohol, travel insurance, any government-imposed visa fees and anything not mentioned in the itinerary
Although airfare is not included in the price, we will find you the exact flights you need. Just ask.
Need help finding flights? We'll find the best airfare and send you a complete, no-obligation quote with flights included.
Are Domestic Flights Needed for This Tour?
Below are the domestic flights needed for this tour:
Day 9: Antalya to Kayseri or Nevsehir (Cappadocia)
Day 10: Kayseri or Nevsehir (Cappadocia) to Istanbul
After booking our tour package, we would send you screenshots of what you need to purchase (airlines, flight number and date) and you would then book directly with the carrier. You should almost never book airfare through a third party. The exception is when booking specifically international business class airfare from the United States. Sometimes this specific scenario provides a significant saving for the customer. Does CharlieTheTraveler book airfare on customers' behalf? Yes, both international and domestic. Ask us for details.
Note that CharlieTheTraveler cannot guarantee the airfare type it quotes you will be fully refundable. This is one of the reasons why we require customers to have travel insurance. Some airlines offer fully refundable airfare with a relatively low upcharge while others offer strictly non-refundable. Equally unsurprising, some airlines offer fully refundable airfare but with significant upcharges. If you are seeking airfare which guarantees cancellation without penalty, then please state this in writing when asking CharlieTheTraveler to book on your behalf.

For our Iceland tour, your booking would need to be for 8 persons or more. Regarding the cost of bringing a non-adult, we do deduct from the total based on the amount of activities you request we remove from the tour. Note that reducing the total price of the tour by removing activities is something offered for non-adults only. Adults can opt out of activities but the total price does not change.
