Our Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Mama’s Homemade Cooking, a Candlelight Illumination Show & Little Petra
Our tour starts in Petra. We will arrange transportation for you after you arrive in the capital of Jordan, Amman. The drive from the international airport in Amman to Petra takes about 4 hours. Let’s see Little Petra. It is a 15-minute drive away from town. Following the tour, we are taken to a native Jordanian’s home. There we watch how traditional food is prepared as well as have dinner. The combination of tasty cuisine, rich culture and good company creates an unforgettable experience. Later this evening, we check out “Petra by Night.” It is nothing short of a magical experience to see part of the rock city illuminated by candlelight.
Note that you can start this tour on any Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Day 2: Petra, a "Place to See Before You Die”
Today we explore Petra and then relocate to the valley of Wadi Rum. There we sleep in the desert.
Established possibly as early as 312 BC, Petra is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. This archaeological park has been a World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO described it as “One of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage.” Petra was also chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the “28 Places to See Before You Die.” Popular attractions include the Treasury, a roman theater, royal tombs, a monastery and a winding sandstone canyon known as the Siq.
Day 3: Four-Wheeling on a Seemingly Different Planet, Colorful Fish & Coral & Parties in the Evening
Before relocating to Eilat in Israel, we explore Wadi Rum. It is a valley cut into sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. The area is best explored by a guided 4×4 tour, which we go on. Once in Eilat, we go on a glass boat ride, seeing colorful fish and coral beneath us. In the evening, check out the pubs and bars found along Eilat’s promenade as well as in the main square. Eilat’s beaches, coral reef, desert landscapes and nightlife make this resort a popular destination for domestic and international tourists alike.
Day 4: Dolphins & Pristine Waters Followed by Relocating to the Center of the Biblical World
Before relocating to Jerusalem, we visit the nearby Dolphin Reef. The site is home to Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, which interact freely with human visitors. These dolphins swim alongside people who snorkel and dive around the observation posts and floating piers.
Day 5: The Birthplace of Jesus, Well-Preserved Mosaic Floors & a Spectacular Cinema Show
We go on a daytrip today to the West Bank area, specifically to Jericho and then Bethlehem. Jericho is a town popular specifically for the archaeological remains and well-preserved mosaic floors of Hisham’s Palace. Bethlehem is a town popular chiefly for the Church of the Nativity. This is where Jesus is said to have been born.
Note we cannot guarantee that we will be able to stand in front of the Church of the Nativity’s grotto. It can take hours just waiting in line to see the grotto. Our tour guide is to decide once inside the church.
The evening ends back in Jerusalem with a light show, specifically at the Tower of David. Expect a multi-sensory experience that combines the past and the present using the most advanced technologies in the world. Powerful laser projectors accompanied by high-quality sound ultimately make our night special.
Day 6: Sightseeing in One of the World's Most Revered Destinations
Today we explore Jerusalem. It is a city of both faith and fun. Jerusalem also helps you better understand and appreciate the evolution of great civilizations. Whether you wish to humble yourself with prayers in sacred shrines, play card and board games with Palestinians on the streets and/or simply walk aimlessly around world heritage sites and along ancient alleys, know that you aren’t just anywhere. You are in Jerusalem, a beautiful city that is so dear to millions of people across the globe.
Important to note, we recommend you spend more time in Jerusalem. If you really want to cover the highlights of this city, then you will need six full days. Of course, few people have that sort of time. Would you like to extend this 10-day tour specifically so our tour guides could take you to more of Jerusalem’s famous attractions? If so, then let us know.
Steeped in thousands of years of history and home of the monastic religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, few destinations on earth can enchant the way Jerusalem does. The entire walled and ancient city is breathtaking and each of its quarters-the Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and Armenian alike-offers visitors memorable sites and experiences to last a lifetime. Each quarter prides itself on its own jewels. The Muslim Quarter is best known for its souks, traditional Arabic cuisine, and of course, the postcard-perfect and otherwise sacred Dome on the Rock mosque. A stone’s throw from there is another sacred site, the Western Wall. Here the Jewish Quarter stands. Much of this architectural masterpiece neighborhood was recreated after Arab-Israeli warring. Today it’s arguably the city’s best-preserved quarter. The Christian and Armenian quarters are no less spectacular, however, boasting world-renowned landmarks such as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It is here where each year millions of Christians kneel to their Lord’s grave giving thanks and praise.
Outside of the walled and ancient city are the Mount of Olives and Mount Zion, rich in holy places, tombs and not the least, the unforgettable City of David archaeological site. As if all that isn’t enough, then there is a modern area of Jerusalem, which entertains people all along Jaffa Road. A bit further along are some highly intellectual museums, a Holocaust memorial, and otherwise, an incredibly authentic fruit and vegetable market located in the district of Mahane Yehuda.
Day 7: A Mud Bath in a Salt Lake, a Once-Powerful Citadel & Israel’s Best Beaches & Nightlife
Before relocating to the nightlife-rich Mediterranean city of Tel Aviv, we go on another daytrip, specifically to Masada and then to the Dead Sea. Masada is an archaeological site of ancient palaces and fortifications. The Dead Sea is a salt-lake which has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. It was one of the world’s first health resorts and has been the supplier of a wide variety of products from asphalt for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetic products as well as herbal lotions. Bring your swimming attire and expect to be floating on water, literally.
Day 8: Jesus' Childhood Hometown, Where He Walked on Water & Where He Was Baptized
We are to go on a daytrip today. Described as the childhood home of Jesus, Nazareth is a world-renowned center of Christian pilgrimage. The Sea of Galilee is an attraction for those who want to visit where Jesus is said to have performed miracles as well as have walked on water. Capernaum is home to archaeological excavations. Yardenit is a site where Jesus is said to have been baptized. Yardenit is frequented by around 400,000 visitors each year. There we have the option to be baptized.
Day 9: A White-Chalk Cliff Face, a Roman Theater, Gorgeous Gardens & a Walled Coastal Town
We go on another daytrip today. Firstly, we check out the archaeological ruins at Caesarea. Next, we head to a point overlooking the Baha’i shrine and gardens in the city of Haifa. Next, we explore the Rosh Hanikra grottoes, which are reached by cable car. Lastly, we are provided with a guided tour of a big citadel in the coastal town of Akko (a.k.a. Acre).
Caesarea is home to a fascinating Roman theater. The city of Haifa is popular specifically for its garden Bahá’í (terraces) located around the Shrine of the Báb. The Bahá’í Faith is a monotheistic religion emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind. Rosh Hanikra is a white-chalk cliff face which opens into spectacular grottoes. Akko is a fascinating coastal town featuring a historic fortress.
Day 10: Our Tour Ends Today
We will provide you with transportation to the airport in Tel Aviv.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can We Customize This Tour?
We are open to customizing this tour to your liking, even though the itinerary we recommend is rock solid. As our tour is currently advertised, you absolutely will not find another one out there as packed with activities and attractions. What’s more, you will not find another tour out there that offers it all "FIRST CLASS," yet for a relatively low price. We have thousands of travelers taking this specific tour every year, and that's because no competitor can beat us on quality, price & substance.
Is Travel Insurance Required & Included?
All participants are required to book travel insurance within 72 hours of booking this tour. At a minimum, such insurance must cover cancellations, medical expenses, evacuations, flight loss or delays and 24/7 assistance.
How Much Does This Tour Cost & Is Financing Offered?
A 4-installment payment plan is available, often with 0 percent interest to those with at least decent credit. Ask us for details. Our luxury-oriented and itinerary-packed “Israel & Jordan in 10 Days” tour is available for $2,671 USD per person. This price includes all transportation, except flights. It also includes English-speaking tour guides, food, all activities and all entry fees. Also included is 1 night of lodging in the desert. If you would like lodging included for all nights on this tour, then the combined (transportation, tour guides, food, activities, entry fees and lodging) total would be $3,631 USD per person. This price is based on 2 per room and is offered to those booking at least 6 weeks in advance. Note that there is a $30 USD fee if paying by bank transfer or a 4.6 percent surcharge for payments made by credit card. We accept both forms of payment. We do not accept checks. Moving forward, to better understand your specific circumstances and wishes, and for us to accurately quote you, please tell us:
1. How many persons in your party-including yourself-would be joining this tour? Solo travelers are welcomed, in case you were wondering.
2. What is your age and the age of your travel companion(s), if applicable? Travel insurance is required for this tour and we cannot quote you without knowing your age.
3. Would you be sharing the room with others in your group (e.g. a spouse, relative or friend) or do you want the room exclusive to you?
4. Where would you be flying from (and back to)?
5. On what date would you like to leave home? If you want to see the famous ‘Petra by Night’, we would need you to arrive at the airport in Amman by no later than 12:00pm on a Thursday. If you are indifferent to this light show, then we would need you to arrive at the airport in Amman by no later than 12:00pm on a Saturday. If you cannot arrive by 12:00pm, then we will need to add a ‘pre-tour’ day to your itinerary.
6. Would you like to extend the duration of this tour so you have some free days just to relax? If you have 1 extra day, then we recommend Eilat. If you have 2, then we recommend 1 in Eilat and 1 in Tel Aviv.
7. Do you have a preference between male and female tour guides?
8. On a side note, the Mount of Temptation is said to be the hill where Jesus was tempted by the devil. It is reached via cable car. Note that this specific activity is optional and is not included in the standard price. We can add it on your daytrip to the West Bank from Jerusalem. Would you like to add it?
9. Also, Mar Saba is a Greek Orthodox monastery overlooking the Kidron Valley in the Bethlehem Governorate of Palestine. It is not included on our standard tour because females are not allowed inside. Are you a female and want to go there anyway or a male and are interested in visiting inside? Note that this specific activity is optional and is not included in the standard price. We can add it on your daytrip to the West Bank from Jerusalem.
10. Also, this tour package includes a 1-day shared tour of Jerusalem. Are you interested in upgrading from a shared tour (meaning with other travelers) to a private one?
11. Typically, the Jordan part of this trip is private whereas almost all activities on the Israel part are shared with other travelers. The group size specifically in Israel can get relatively big, depending on the time of year. We can make the entire trip almost completely private, per your request, at an additional cost. Are you interested in upgrading the tours specifically in Israel from shared ones to private? Due to cost, we recommend this upgrade only for parties of 4 or more. Nonetheless, we offer this upgrade even to solo travelers.
12. Also, it takes a good 6 full days to see all the worthwhile attractions in Jerusalem, but of course, few people have that sort of time. If you would like to extend this 10-day tour specifically so our tour guides could take you to some of Jerusalem’s famous attractions, then for how many days would you like to have a private tour guide?
13. Lastly, would you like to start our tour in Israel and end it in Jordan? This is allowed. There is a $35 USD per person fee to add lunch in the valley of Wadi Rum. Otherwise, the tour would be the exact same but simply in reverse. If you wish to do it in reverse, then we advise you to arrive in Tel Aviv on a Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
What’s Excluded in the Price?
Any airfare, alcohol, travel insurance, any government-imposed visa fees and anything not mentioned in the itinerary
Although airfare is not included in the price, we will find you the exact flights you need. Just ask.
Prior to arrival, you need to purchase specifically the ‘Jordan Wanderer’ pass: jordanpass.jo/Contents/Prices.aspx This waives the visa-upon-arrival fee.
Are Domestic Flights Needed for This Tour?
No

Below are the names of the hotels where we commonly have our customers stay. Note this is subject to availability.
Night 1: Petra, Preferred Accommodation: Hayat Zaman Hotel & Resort

Nights 7-9: Tel Aviv, Preferred Accommodation: Sea Tower or Prima Tel Aviv or Shalom Hotel
*For those who need a ‘pre-tour’ night of lodging in Amman, our preferred hotel there is Amman Airport Hotel.
Is This a Private or Group Tour?
Typically, the Jordan part of this trip is private whereas almost all activities on the Israel part are shared with other travelers. The group size specifically in Israel can get relatively big, depending on the time of year. We can make the entire trip almost completely private, per your request, at an additional cost.
*Note that you are not with the same travelers and tour guides throughout your trip. Instead, you usually meet and engage with new people.
Am I Sharing the Room with Someone?
Your room is exclusive to you and whomever is in your party. Strangers (meaning customers who book on the same start date but do not know each other) do not share rooms on this tour. On a side note, please let us know if you and the other person(s) in your booking want separate rooms.
What is the Age Range & Nationality of the People Who Book This Tour?
Although we get customers of all ages and from several countries, our statistics show most people who book are 30 to 65 years old and from USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Are Kids Allowed on This Tour & Are They Charged the Same as Adults?
We welcome your kids specifically and only when the tour is exclusive to you and your group-meaning other customers are not joining you. We define kids as anyone under 18 years old. In order to make the tour exclusive to you and your group, your booking would need to be for 4 persons or more for any of our tours except Iceland. For our Iceland tour, your booking would need to be for 8 persons or more. Regarding the cost of bringing a non-adult, we do deduct from the total based on the amount of activities you request we remove from the tour. Note that reducing the total price of the tour by removing activities is something offered for non-adults only. Adults can opt out of activities but the total price does not change.
How Strong Do I Need to Be For This Trip?
We do not expect you to be an Olympic champion. We know some of the tour members are more fit than others…and we are well prepared for this. However, we do hope you take into consideration this is a very active tour, just like every other tour we offer.
Are Disabled People Allowed on This Tour?
Please let us know about any disability you have. Some disabilities would not affect you taking this tour. Others would prevent you from joining altogether. Although we want all of our customers to have fun, your safety is our first priority.
Do I Get Any Free Time to Myself?
Of course. Once each day’s tour is over, you have the rest of the evening to yourself. Because our tours tend to be very active, our customers typically want to simply relax once the sun sets.
What Happens If I Arrive Late?
Notify us as soon as possible and we will do our very best to arrange a meeting point. Please note that we do not refund for any days or activities that you miss.
Can I Opt-Out of Certain Activities?
Generally speaking, you can opt out as long as we are given adequate notice. Please note that opting out of certain activities does not reduce the price of this tour.
What Happens If I Get Injured on This Trip & Cannot Continue?
We would do our best to keep you safe and make you as comfortable as possible, as well as make special arrangements to address your situation. Partial refunds are not offered if you cannot continue with the tour. However, most travel insurances reimburse you for such situations. This is one of many reasons why we require our customers to purchase travel insurance before taking this tour.
What Happens If I Cancel This Trip?
To confirm your tour, full payment is needed at the time of your purchase. However, refunds are offered. You will receive a full refund if canceling at least 91 days in advance from the departure date. Cancelling between 90-60 days prior to departure entitles you to a 50 percent refund. Cancelling between 59-31 days prior to departure entitles you to a 25 percent refund. Canceling 30 days or less prior to departure is not eligible for a refund. Cancellation requests need to be made by email and become effective on the date received by CharlieTheTraveler.
What Happens If You, CharlieTheTraveler, Cancel This Trip?
In the unlikely event CharlieTheTraveler needs to cancel this trip, such as because of very poor weather conditions, we will give you a full refund for the tour within 14 business days of the cancellation. Note: We are not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund, nor is this transaction covered by the Restitution Fund.
How Do You Help Prepare Us For This Trip?
You should receive an email from us within 24 hours of purchasing this tour as well as a week before departure. The first email gives details about what to bring, how to prepare yourself, etc. The second email is more like a timetable combined with important contact information.
Is There Anything Out of the Ordinary I Should Bring on This Trip?
Bring a waterproof case for your identification card and credit cards (when swimming). Also, bring water shoes. On a different note, you may need to bring adapters for your electronic devices. Lastly, bring an electronic copy of the ‘Jordan Wanderer’ visa pass, which you need to purchase directly: jordanpass.jo/Contents/Prices.aspx
Are the Tour Guides Licensed & Will They Be With Me the Entire Time?
Our tour guides/drivers are licensed, speak English and know how to bring excitement to your day. What we deliver is the complete opposite of the cookie-cutting tours the big corporations offer, leaving you in complete boredom. Although our tour guides/drivers are attentive, accommodating and engaged, they also know when to give you your private space and free time. It's a perfect balance.
In Which Language(s) is This Tour Offered?

Absolutely not. We make the arrangements for you.
Is Someone Available for Us 24-7 While on This Tour?
Yes! You have your own concierge for this tour who is at your disposal. You could reach this person when you need anything.
