Day 1: The Shopping & Street Life of Playa del Carmen
Although our tour starts in Playa del Carmen, first you will be picked up at the airport in Cancun. Let's check out the street life. Nowadays, Playa del Carmen’s Fifth Avenue is lined with hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants. Tourism to this once small fishing town began with the passenger ferry service to Cozumel, an island across the channel.
Day 2: A Dune Buggy Tour on Cozumel Island
We go on a daytrip today. From the pier in Playa del Carmen, we catch the ferry to the island of Cozumel, which takes about 30 minutes to reach. Large parts of this island are covered with mangrove forest and is home to many endemic animal species. We are provided with a guided dune buggy tour, covering the popular attractions. We also have time for swimming. By the way, lunch is included on today’s tour.
Day 3: A World Famous Archaeological Site, a Clear-Water Sinkhole & Sightseeing in a Colonial Town
We are going on another daytrip today. We are firstly taken to the ruins of Chichen Itza. There we are provided with a guided tour. Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most visited archaeological sites in the Americas. Next, we head to a sinkhole (a.k.a. cenote). Created as a result of a meteor crashing into the area approximately 66 million years ago and used only centuries ago by the indigenous tribe for sacrificial offerings, nowadays this cenote is used by tourists like us who enjoy swimming in clear waters. Lunch is included on today’s tour, near the cenote. Lastly, we visit a colonial town called Valladolid. There we have around 30 minutes to walk around freely. The highlights are the cathedral, city hall and central park.
Day 4: Swimming with Sea Turtles, Canyoning Under Blue-Water Caves & an Exotic Maya Walled City
Before relocating to Cancun, we go on another daytrip. The first destination is Tulum. There we are provided with a guided tour of a pre-Columbian Maya walled city surrounded by exotic beaches and well-groomed landscape. Next, we board onto a boat heading to a reef. There we swim with sea turtles. Following this, we check out a sinkhole which features blue waters and caves. There we go on a canyoning tour. Afterwards, we have lunch, which is included on today’s tour. The day ends in Cancun. We make sure to check out the 'Hotel Zone'. Almost always filled in the evenings with tourists, this shopping and nightlife area is best described as a huge venue which gets top entertainers and DJs.
Day 5: An Open Bar on a Catamaran Headed for the 'Island of Women'
We go on a daytrip today. From the pier in Cancun, we get onto a catamaran headed to the Underwater Museum. There we go snorkeling. Sea turtles are often seen while snorkeling. Next, we cruise to a beach club on the island of Isla Mujeres (a.k.a. the Island of Women). There we have lunch, which is included on today’s tour. Also, included on this beach club is an open bar. After our meal, we get back onto the catamaran and are taken to the other side of the island. This is where the city center is located. We have about an hour and a half to walk around and shop. Alternatively, you could rent a golf cart and drive around the island. We get back onto the catamaran by 4:30pm and return to Cancun around 6:00pm.
Day 6: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport in Cancun.
I took this tour as a solo traveler and was visiting Mexico for the first time. Tour organizer filled my day tours. A taxi collected me at the airport and brought to my hotel. I liked the point that I could choose hotels where I stayed at Playa del Carmen and Cancun, so I could be in a walking distance from the centers and enjoy night life. During these days pick-up services were organized by local tour offices and not all drivers could speak English. In cases of misunderstanding I contacted the CharlieTheTraveler local contact and he handled discussions. For these who going to take this tour I recommend having mobile internet on a phone. That thanks to this tour I could visit many must-to-see touristic attractions in a short time without having a hassle of planning my journey. Thanks to CharlieTheTraveler team for being flexible and responsive.
One of the best and most planned out experiences you can ever have!
I had the time of my life!!! Hands down the best trip. I went by my myself, and I have never felt so safe and in wonderful hands. Each day was a new and excellent experience! I didn’t have to worry about a thing. From a detailed itinerary of my day and what to bring on each trip, to pick ups and drop offs. I cannot wait to book my next trip with Charlie the Traveler. Charlie is SO So awesome! So excited for more life adventures.
Mexico was the perfect vacation destination! I loved the mixture of beaches and historical sites on this week-long tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful in making the best of the trip.
Overall, I found this trip to Southern Mexico organized and planned with care by CharlieTheTraveler. Our tour guide provided by the company was the best part of the trip. He was very welcoming and interactive with us, which made me feel safe in a foreign country (not an easy task!). The less I had to worry about my safety was more time to have fun and enjoy myself on the trip.
I thought this area of Mexico made for the ideal trip destination! The beaches and historical sites offered a great variety and balance throughout the week. It was evident our tour guide knew the area, as he was very helpful in recommending the best spots during the times I was able to explore on my own.
The breakfasts we were provided were authentic and unbelievably tasty. The islands we were taken to were relaxing and adventurous at the same time. There was so much to do, but everything was planned out for us so nicely.

The tour guide CharlieTheTraveler provided for this tour made a huge difference in my overall experience. I alone could not have put together a better tour. Also worth noting, the beaches we were taken to and the boat rides we went on were remarkable.
I often travel alone, but still like to feel part of a group of people with similar interests. I booked a group tour to Southern Mexico with CharlieTheTraveler and would not a change a thing. I found the tour guide very personable, which made it easier to connect to him and others in the group. This was perfect for me as a lone traveler.

Note that whereas there is no fee associated with paying by check, there is a 3.5 percent surcharge for payments made by credit card. We accept both forms of payment. Moving forward, to better understand your specific circumstances and wishes, and for us to accurately quote you, please tell us:
1. How many persons in your party-including yourself-would be joining this tour? Solo travelers are welcomed, in case you were wondering.

Of course. Once each day’s tour is over, you have the rest of the evening to yourself. Because our tours tend to be very active, our customers typically want to simply relax once the sun sets.

Notify us as soon as possible and we will do our very best to arrange a meeting point. Please note that we do not refund for any days or activities that you miss.
Can I Opt-Out of Certain Activities?
Generally speaking, you can opt out as long as we are given adequate notice. Please note that opting out of certain activities does not reduce the price of this tour.
What Happens If I Get Injured on This Trip & Cannot Continue?
We would do our best to keep you safe and make you as comfortable as possible, as well as make special arrangements to address your situation. Partial refunds are not offered if you cannot continue with the tour. However, most travel insurances reimburse you for such situations. This is one of many reasons why we require our customers to purchase travel insurance before taking this tour.

The more we customize it, the quicker the price goes up. As our tour is currently advertised, you absolutely will not find another one out there as packed with activities and attractions. What’s more, you will not find another tour out there that offers it all "FIRST CLASS," yet for a relatively low price.
