Day 1: Mama’s Homemade Cooking, a Candlelight Illumination Show & Little Petra
Our tour starts in Petra. We will arrange transportation for you if you are arriving into the capital of Jordan, Amman. The drive from the international airport in Amman to Petra takes about 4 hours. Let's see Little Petra. It is a 15-minute drive away from town. Following the tour, we are taken to a native Jordanian’s home. There we watch how traditional food is prepared as well as have dinner. The combination of tasty cuisine, rich culture and good company creates an unforgettable experience. Later this evening, we check out “Petra by Night.” It is nothing short of a magical experience to see part of the rock city illuminated by candlelight.
Note that you can start this tour on any Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Day 2: Petra, a "Place to See Before You Die”
Today we explore Petra and then relocate to the valley of Wadi Rum. There we sleep in the desert.
Established possibly as early as 312 BC, Petra is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. This archaeological park has been a World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO described it as “One of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage.” Petra was also chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the “28 Places to See Before You Die.” Popular attractions include the Treasury, a roman theater, royal tombs, a monastery and a winding sandstone canyon known as the Siq.
Day 3: Four-Wheeling on a Seemingly Different Planet, Dolphins, Pristine Waters & Parties
Before relocating to Eilat in Israel, we explore Wadi Rum. It is a valley cut into sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. The area is best explored by a guided 4x4 tour, which we go on. Including the process of crossing the border from Wadi Rum, Jordan to Israel, it takes about 2 hours to reach Eilat. Once there, we visit the Dolphin Reef. The site is home to Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, which interact freely with human visitors. These dolphins swim alongside people who snorkel and dive around the observation posts and floating piers. The day ends with snorkeling near to the Red Sea’s Coral Beach. The coral reefs remain relatively pristine. In the evening, we are checking out the pubs and bars found along Eilat’s promenade as well as in the main square. Eilat’s beaches, coral reef, desert landscapes and nightlife make this resort a popular destination for domestic and international tourists alike.
Day 4: Bizarre Stone Formations Followed by Relocating to the Center of the Biblical World
Before relocating to Jerusalem, we go on an excursion to Timna Valley. There we have a 4x4 tour as well as hike in the area. Timna is rich in copper ore and has been mined since the 5th millennium BCE. This valley is notable for its uncommon stone formations and sand. Although usually red, the sand can turn yellow, orange, grey, dark brown or black. Light green or blue sand occurs near the copper mines. Water and wind erosion have created several unusual formations here.
Day 5: The Birthplace of Jesus, Well-Preserved Mosaic Floors & a Spectacular Cinema Show
We go on a daytrip today to the West Bank area, specifically to Jericho and then Bethlehem. Jericho is a town popular specifically for the archaeological remains and well-preserved mosaic floors of Hisham's Palace. Bethlehem is a town popular chiefly for the Church of the Nativity. This is where Jesus is said to have been born.
Note we cannot guarantee that we will be able to stand in front of the Church of the Nativity’s grotto. It can take hours just waiting in line to see the grotto. Our tour guide is to decide once inside the church.
Day 6: Sightseeing in One of the World's Most Revered Destinations
Today we explore Jerusalem. It is a city of both faith and fun. Jerusalem also helps you better understand and appreciate the evolution of great civilizations. Whether you wish to humble yourself with prayers in sacred shrines, play card and board games with Palestinians on the streets and/or simply walk aimlessly around world heritage sites and along ancient alleys, know that you aren’t just anywhere. You are in Jerusalem, a beautiful city that is so dear to millions of people across the globe.
Important to note, we recommend you spend more time in Jerusalem. If you really want to cover the highlights of this city, then you will need six full days. Of course, few people have that sort of time. Would you like to extend this 10-day tour specifically so our tour guides could take you to more of Jerusalem’s famous attractions? If so, then let us know.
Steeped in thousands of years of history and home of the monastic religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, few destinations on earth can enchant the way Jerusalem does. The entire walled and ancient city is breathtaking and each of its quarters-the Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and Armenian alike-offers visitors memorable sites and experiences to last a lifetime. Each quarter prides itself on its own jewels. The Muslim Quarter is best known for its souks, traditional Arabic cuisine, and of course, the postcard-perfect and otherwise sacred Dome on the Rock mosque. A stone’s throw from there is another sacred site, the Western Wall. Here the Jewish Quarter stands. Much of this architectural masterpiece neighborhood was recreated after Arab-Israeli warring. Today it’s arguably the city’s best-preserved quarter. The Christian and Armenian quarters are no less spectacular, however, boasting world-renowned landmarks such as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It is here where each year millions of Christians kneel to their Lord’s grave giving thanks and praise.
Outside of the walled and ancient city are the Mount of Olives and Mount Zion, rich in holy places, tombs and not the least, the unforgettable City of David archaeological site. As if all that isn’t enough, then there is a modern area of Jerusalem, which entertains people all along Jaffa Road. A bit further along are some highly intellectual museums, a Holocaust memorial, and otherwise, an incredibly authentic fruit and vegetable market located in the district of Mahane Yehuda.
Day 7: A Mud Bath in a Salt Lake, a Once-Powerful Citadel & Israel’s Best Beaches & Nightlife
Before relocating to the nightlife-rich Mediterranean city of Tel Aviv, we go on another daytrip, specifically to Masada and then to the Dead Sea. Masada is an archaeological site of ancient palaces and fortifications. The Dead Sea is a salt-lake which has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. It was one of the world’s first health resorts and has been the supplier of a wide variety of products from asphalt for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetic products as well as herbal lotions. Bring your swimming attire and expect to be floating on water, literally.
Day 8: Jesus' Childhood Hometown, Where He Walked on Water & Where He Was Baptized
We are to go on a daytrip today. Described as the childhood home of Jesus, Nazareth is a world-renowned center of Christian pilgrimage. The Sea of Galilee is an attraction for those who want to visit where Jesus is said to have performed miracles as well as have walked on water. Capernaum is home to archaeological excavations. Yardenit is a site where Jesus is said to have been baptized. Yardenit is frequented by around 400,000 visitors each year. There we have the option to be baptized.
Day 9: A White-Chalk Cliff Face, a Roman Theater, Gorgeous Gardens & a Walled Coastal Town
We go on another daytrip today. Firstly, we check out the archaeological ruins at Caesarea. Next, we head to a point overlooking the Baha'i shrine and gardens in the city of Haifa. Next, we explore the Rosh Hanikra grottoes, which are reached by cable car. Lastly, we are provided with a guided tour of a big citadel in the coastal town of Akko (a.k.a. Acre).
Caesarea is home to a fascinating Roman theater. The city of Haifa is popular specifically for its garden Bahá'í (terraces) located around the Shrine of the Báb. The Bahá'í Faith is a monotheistic religion emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind. Rosh Hanikra is a white-chalk cliff face which opens into spectacular grottoes. Akko is a fascinating coastal town featuring a historic fortress.
Day 10: Our Tour Ends Today
We will provide you with transportation to the airport in Tel Aviv.
We spent a lot of time in the car driving in Jordan but it was worth it. Zina met us at the airport. She adjusted our schedule because she felt we would not be able to work everything in with the driving time. If I ever want to write a book, I will go to Wadi Rum for the beauty and seclusion. Petra was everything the books and pictures claim…We both enjoyed the experience of helping cook in the Jordanian home. The food was good. I accidentally reached in the wrong pocket and gave her a $100 USD tip. I didn't realize it until we were on our way back to our hotel. She was probably overjoyed… I figured money was well spent.
I had no idea what to expect from Israel and Jordan, as I thought they were just deserts. The trip provided by the company showed me there was way more to these countries than sand. I enjoyed learning about the rich history of the area.
I imagined Israel and Jordan to be a ton of sand and nothing else. This trip organized by CharlieTheTraveler changed my entire mind on these two countries. The history behind the sites in each place I was brought to blew my mind.
The tour was well organized and stress free. I saw many cultural and religious sites in a very efficient way. I would highly recommend this trip to my friends even if they are not into organized tours because there was so much value added with excellent tour guides and comfortable and safe transportation.
I was blown away by the tour to Israel and Jordan planned by CharlieTheTraveler. They organized everything and I never had to be concerned about anything. I knew everything ahead of time and knew how to pack accordingly, which made the preparing process so much easier. Everything they did made for a unique vacation to these countries.
I took my mother to Israel and Jordan, as she wanted a unique vacation. I chose CharlieTheTraveler because it included many of the day trips she was most interested in visiting. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the activities and accommodations provided made the trip worth every penny. It warmed my heart to see my mom get the trip of her life.
As a lone traveler who works too much to plan for lunch let alone a trip, I didn’t think I could ever have a unique and exciting vacation. One day I was looking into group tours when I came across CharlieTheTraveler. The price for everything included in the Israel & Jordan trip was fair and all I had to do was book it. The company helped me be able to have my unique and exciting vacation while also giving me a cultural and spiritual experience I was not expecting!
The Israel and Jordan trip by CharlieTheTraveler offered me a great itinerary of spiritual day trips as well as fun excursions. Booking was simple and there were a lot of amenities included in this trip. I had a great time.
A trip to Israel and Jordan requires careful preparation, as those are places I didn’t think had a ton of entertainment that could keep me busy all day. I didn’t have time for all of that so I booked through CharlieTheTraveler. This company had a cultural experience through these countries planned which was perfect for me.
I was worried about going to Israel and Jordan, as I didn’t want to do anything to offend any local people, as I understand other cultures are much more stringent than my own. However, CharlieTheTraveler alleviated these worries by preparing me for the trip. The itinerary was detailed so I knew where we going. I’m glad I went in this trip as immersing myself in another culture was beneficial to my spiritual health.
I found CharlieTheTraveler’s trip to Israel and Jordan organized and well-balanced. I had a great experience, as the company booked the best accommodations. The architecture of the buildings and the natural landmarks made for amazing sites.
When I was researching trips to take, I had no idea Israel and Jordan would have so much to offer. CharlieTheTraveler made sure they included the best activities. I didn’t know there were so many excursions to go on in these Middle Eastern countries.
I was never bored while on my trip to Israel and Jordan. I was pleasantly surprised to be brought to so many sites and have CharlieTheTraveler include so many activities. This was a great vacation in such an unexpected destination.
For everything that was included in this trip the price was a great deal! ChariieTheTraveler planned a perfect vacation to Israel and Jordan. I needed a vacation that revitalized my mind, body, and spirit and this did exactly that.
I couldn’t have imagined a better trip to Israel and Jordan as the one I took with CharlieTheTraveler. Each daytrip was planned with care so that I could have a relaxing and exciting trip. I had so much fun and would love to go again.
CharlieTheTraveler booked amazing activities for this trip. I never knew I could have so much fun in Israel and Jordan. I also learned a ton about the countries while on this trip. Our tour guide was so helpful in navigating the area and informing us about the culture.
I’ve been on other sightseeing tours before, but nothing like a CharlieTheTraveler tour. I think what separates other trips from this trip to Israel and Jordan that I booked through this company is the group I was with and the tour guide. Our tour guide knew just the right way to make us feel comfortable and safe around her and around each other. She was fun and charismatic but it was obvious she cared about our safety. This made the trip a lot better.
I felt safe in booking through CharlieTheTraveler for an Israel and Jordan trip because of the positive reviews online. It was a relief to find a company that many previous customers have enjoyed and haven’t had any issues with. They prepared me well for my trip and supplied an amazing tour guide to ensure I had a good time.
My spouse’s family is from Israel and Jordan, so I knew it was important for us to visit. However, I wanted to be on a trip that not only took us on a cultural and spiritual journey, but also would be fun and have exciting excursions. This is exactly what I got with the CharlieTheTraveler tour. I had a great time and I was happy to see my spouse having fun while immersed in the culture.
I initially wanted a beach vacation. However, I came across CharlieTheTraveler’s trip to Israel and Jordan. I thought this was odd for a vacation, but after reading the itinerary and everything that I would be doing, I had to book my trip. I’m glad I did as I had fun and still got my beach vacation!
The company had great reviews and included a lot in the trip, so I booked my trip to Israel and Jordan through them. I had no idea just how organized CharlieTheTraveler’s trip was going to be. It was a perfect blend of culture and nature as I experienced local cuisine, toured historical cities, and swam in the Red Sea.
What I liked best about CharlieTheTraveler was that they were meticulous about every detail of the trip. I appreciated they kept the group size small, as I wasn’t lost in the crowd and we all got to know each other which made me feel safer than being with a bunch of strangers. Our tour guide enhanced the trip by breaking the ice and keeping conversation going between everyone. It was very helpful for a 12-day trip.
I thought Israel and Jordan would make for a unique and educational trip. However, I had no idea that there was so much to do until I found the itinerary from CharlieTheTraveler. They had overall positive reviews, so I knew I would be booking through a good company. The trip was organized and planned very well!
CharlieTheTraveler put my mind at ease because of its organization and experience. Our tour guide had everything planned out quite well. He was very efficient with managing the time we had at each attraction, not too little and not too long. Our group was small, relative to other tour operators’ group sizes-and I actually preferred it that way. CharlieTheTraveler chooses quality over quantity and this is one of the reasons why I recommend the company to my friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Much Does This Tour Cost?
A 4-installment payment plan is available, often with 0 percent interest to those with at least decent credit. Ask us for details. Our luxury-oriented and itinerary-packed “Israel & Jordan in 10 Days” tour is available for $2,671 USD per person. This price includes all transportation, except flights. It also includes English-speaking tour guides, food, all activities and all entry fees. If you would like lodging included for all nights on this tour, then the combined (transportation, tour guides, food, activities, entry fees and lodging) total would be $3,631 USD per person. This price is based on 2 per room and is offered to those booking at least 6 weeks in advance. Note that whereas there is no fee associated with paying by check, there is a 3.5 percent surcharge for payments made by credit card. We accept both forms of payment. Moving forward, to better understand your specific circumstances and wishes, and for us to accurately quote you, please tell us:
1. How many persons in your party-including yourself-would be joining this tour? Solo travelers are welcomed, in case you were wondering.
2. Do you prefer this tour to be private/exclusive to you or would you like to share it with other travelers?
3. Would you be sharing the room with others in your group (e.g. a spouse, relative or friend) or do you want the room exclusive to you?
4. Where would you be flying from (and back to)?
5. On what date would you like to leave home? If you want to see the famous ‘Petra by Night’, we would need you to arrive at the airport in Amman by no later than 12:00pm on a Thursday. If you are indifferent to this light show, then we would need you to arrive at the airport in Amman by no later than 12:00pm on a Saturday. If you cannot arrive by 12:00pm, then we will need to add a ‘pre-tour’ day to your itinerary.
6. Do you have a preference between male and female tour guides?
7. On a side note, the Mount of Temptation is said to be the hill where Jesus was tempted by the devil. It is reached via cable car. Note that this specific activity is optional and is not included in the standard price. We can add it on your daytrip to the West Bank from Jerusalem. Would you like to add it?
8. Also, Mar Saba is a Greek Orthodox monastery overlooking the Kidron Valley in the Bethlehem Governorate of Palestine. It is not included on our standard tour because females are not allowed inside. Are you a female and want to go there anyway or a male and are interested in visiting inside? Note that this specific activity is optional and is not included in the standard price. We can add it on your daytrip to the West Bank from Jerusalem.
9. Also, it takes a good 6 full days to see all the worthwhile attractions in Jerusalem, but of course, few people have that sort of time. If you would like to extend this 10-day tour specifically so our tour guides could take you to some of Jerusalem’s famous attractions, then for how many days would you like to have a private tour guide?
10. Lastly, would you like to start our tour in Israel and end it in Jordan? This is allowed. There is a $35 USD per person fee to add lunch in the valley of Wadi Rum. Also, you would miss Timna Park in Israel. Otherwise, the tour would be the exact same but simply in reverse. If you wish to do it in reverse, then we advise you to arrive in Tel Aviv on a Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
What’s Excluded in the Price?
Any airfare, alcohol, travel insurance, any government-imposed visa fees and anything not mentioned in the itinerary
Although airfare is not included in the price, we will find you the exact flights you need. Just ask.
Prior to arrival, you need to purchase specifically the ‘Jordan Wanderer’ pass: jordanpass.jo/Contents/Prices.aspx This waives the visa-upon-arrival fee.

We welcome your kids specifically and only when the tour is exclusive to you and your group-meaning other customers are not joining you. We define kids as anyone under 18 years old. In order to make the tour exclusive to you and your group, your booking would need to be for 4 persons or more for any of our tours except Iceland. For our Iceland tour, your booking would need to be for 8 persons or more. Regarding the cost of bringing a non-adult, we do deduct from the total based on the amount of activities you request we remove from the tour. Note that reducing the total price of the tour by removing activities is something offered for non-adults only. Adults can opt out of activities but the total price does not change.
How Strong Do I Need to Be For This Trip?
We do not expect you to be an Olympic champion. We know some of the tour members are more fit than others…and we are well prepared for this. However, we do hope you take into consideration this is a very active tour, just like every other tour we offer.

Do I Get Any Free Time to Myself?
Of course. Once each day’s tour is over, you have the rest of the evening to yourself. Because our tours tend to be very active, our customers typically want to simply relax once the sun sets.
What Happens If I Arrive Late?
Notify us as soon as possible and we will do our very best to arrange a meeting point. Please note that we do not refund for any days or activities that you miss.
Can I Opt-Out of Certain Activities?
Generally speaking, you can opt out as long as we are given adequate notice. Please note that opting out of certain activities does not reduce the price of this tour.
What Happens If I Get Injured on This Trip & Cannot Continue?
We would do our best to keep you safe and make you as comfortable as possible, as well as make special arrangements to address your situation. Partial refunds are not offered if you cannot continue with the tour. However, most travel insurances reimburse you for such situations. This is one of many reasons why we require our customers to purchase travel insurance before taking this tour.
What Happens If I Cancel This Trip?
To confirm your tour, full payment is needed at the time of your purchase. However, refunds are offered. You will receive a full refund if canceling at least 91 days in advance from the departure date. Cancelling between 90-60 days prior to departure entitles you to a 50 percent refund. Cancelling between 59-31 days prior to departure entitles you to a 25 percent refund. Canceling 30 days or less prior to departure is not eligible for a refund. Cancellation requests need to be made by email and become effective on the date received by CharlieTheTraveler.
What Happens If You, CharlieTheTraveler, Cancel This Trip?
In the unlikely event CharlieTheTraveler needs to cancel this trip, such as because of very poor weather conditions, we will give you a full refund for the tour within 14 business days of the cancellation. Note: We are not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund, nor is this transaction covered by the Restitution Fund.
How Do You Help Prepare Us For This Trip?
You should receive an email from us within 24 hours of purchasing this tour as well as a week before departure. The first email gives details about what to bring, how to prepare yourself, etc. The second email is more like a timetable combined with important contact information.
Is There Anything Out of the Ordinary I Should Bring on This Trip?
Bring a waterproof case for your identification card and credit cards (when swimming). Also, bring water shoes. On a different note, you may need to bring adapters for your electronic devices.
Is CharlieTheTraveler Licensed & Which State in America Issued it?
The owner of the travel license is the same owner of CharlieTheTraveler. Charlie is a California born and bred resident. The company is headquartered in Greater Los Angeles. Our tour guides/drivers are licensed, speak English and know how to bring excitement to your day. What we deliver is the complete opposite of the cookie-cutting tours the big corporations offer, leaving you in complete boredom. Although our tour guides/drivers are attentive, accommodating and engaged, they also know when to give you your private space and free time. It's a perfect balance.

Travel insurance is required for all of our customers, for their protection and safety. CharlieTheTraveler does not sell travel insurance. We cannot endorse any specific company. Please check out different companies online and go with the one which offers the most comprehensive coverage.

All of our tours are offered in English. If you prefer another language, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can We Customize This Tour?
Although we are open to customizing this tour to fit your liking, as a general rule, we discourage the practice. We do our best to keep the cost of the tour low. The more we customize it, the quicker the price goes up. As our tour is currently advertised, you absolutely will not find another one out there as packed with activities and attractions. What’s more, you will not find another tour out there that offers it all "FIRST CLASS," yet for a relatively low price. We have thousands of travelers taking this specific tour every year, and that's because no competitor can beat us on quality, price & substance.
Do We Need to Get Our Own Transportation to and From the Airport?
